Services for Refugees and Indiviudals who have Speical Immig

Resettlement Agencies

Agencies that are created to serve immigrants through case management, employment assistance, mental health services, youth and school services, and more. Some of these agencies offer legal services to immigrants also. In the past these agencies resettled new refugees and special immigrant visa holders. 

Office of Refugee Resettlement

 The NC SRO consist of three service areas: Refugee Public Assistance, Refugee Service Programs, and Refugee Support Activities. They offer grants to organizations to directly serve elegible immigrant clients.

Benefit Eligibility

Refugees, SIVs and people have approved asylum status can qualify for Medicaid, Food Stamps (FNS/ SNAP), Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA), Work First (TANIF), Women's, Infant and Children benefits (WIC), state subsidized childcare and housing, and Social Security benefits for those over 65 years old or with a disability.
